Health Essentials for Hot Girl Summer

With Hot Girl Summer just around the corner, it may be time to consider revamping your supplements and health products. Below are my top 5 products staying healthy while having fun in the sun!

#1: Omega-3

The first supplement should come as no surprise and it’s Omega-3. There are studies and influencers all over the place raving about the “healthy fats” and their benefits for healthy hair and skin. And for the most part they’re right. They help provide essential proteins and nutrients to hair follicles and skin, prevent hair follicle inflammation and promote circulation in the scalp that may trigger hair growth. HOWEVER, I love getting Omega-3s from foods like chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, edamame, avocados and any other food rich in Omega-3s. With that being said, I personally take a vegan omega-3 supplement with at least 330mg of DHA from Sapling I’ve linked HERE. I generally recommend against any type of fish oil because of their purity issues. Most fish oil contain harmful chemicals and impurities. If you want to learn more about why I really don’t like fish oil, I’ve linked the video I did on fish oil HERE. Check that out if you have any questions!

#2. Probiotics

A healthy biome makes up 70% of your immune system. With a healthy gut, you are assured of good immune protection and support. One of my favorite probiotics is Probiotic G.I. by Pure Encapsulations. Probiotic G.I. provides 10 billion CFU per capsule of the beneficial bacteria crucial for proper gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) function and development. The GALT helps protect intestinal mucosa from allergens and toxins and is a major component of the body's immune system. This probiotic is perfect for maintain a healthy gut and immune system to help Hot Girl Summer be sick day free! I’ve linked Probiotic G.I. HERE!

#3. Evolve Plant-Based Protein Shakes

With 20 grams of plant protein, 10 grams of fiber, no artificial flavors and non-gmo certified, this protein shake is the perfect on-the-go snack for the summer. Whether hiking, boating or laying in the sun, I love throwing this plant-based shake into my bag to use as a satisfying and filling fuel for my adventures. Do you want to know the best part? It doesn’t leave a nasty protein aftertaste in your mouth! My favorite flavor is of course the Double Chocolate, I order frequently from Amazon. Check out Evolve Protein Shakes HERE!

#4 Niacinamide

Niacinamide (also known as nicotinamide) has been demonstrated to play a role in DNA repair by providing cells with the energy that the DNA repair enzymes need. Specifically, niacinamide is known to enhance DNA repair and repair of sun-induced damage. If you have had to have cancerous or precancerous lesions removed or you have a strong family history of non-melanoma skin cancer, then Niacinamide is potentially a great supplement for you! Check out the Niacinamide supplement from NatureMade linked HERE!

#5: Bare Republic Sunscreen and Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion

We all know how important sunscreen is and not just for the summer. The distinguishing factor of this sunscreen and tinted face sunscreen lotion is their cruelty-free, vegan, dermatologist-tested formula enriched with Vitamin E and antioxidants. The company also takes a huge interest in being environmentally conscious while protecting you and your loved ones from the potentially damaging UV rays of the sun.
